Health is a fundamental human right and everyone should have access to the services and information they need to care for themselves and their families, wherever and whenever necessary.
WHO research shows that at least half the people in the world do not receive the health services they need and more than 100 million are forced into poverty every year as a result of out-of-pocket spending on health.
What is the most important thing in your life?
“Today is an important opportunity to stop and think about what really matters in our lives: our health and the health of those who are important to us,” says Sîan Hughes, Knauf Insulation’s Director of External Affairs.
“Our company puts health issues in the heart of everything we do. We have campaigned to curb the impact of climate change on global health, we consistently call on politicians to tackle health issues caused by fuel poverty and we relentlessly support of any action designed to improve health at home.”
How we can improve the health of our buildings
We are also constantly updating our solutions to improve the health of buildings for the people who use them. A home, workspace or public building that is well-insulated is warm in winter and cool in summer inevitably contributing to good health and comfort.
Our products are also designed to reduce unhealthy noise pollution and, when installed with good ventilation, can contribute to air quality by creating dry and warm homes where no cold spots or mould can grow.
How you can support #WorldHealthDay
WHO is promoting greater awareness of universal health care issues by urging supporters to share stories with policy makers to transform political agendas and encouraging health workers and the media to organise events to highlight issues facing those marginalised by a lack of healthcare.
